A beautiful end to the humidity for a few days

After days of relentless heat and humidity, a line of storms swept through a lot of Eastern Qld on Sunday.  Heat and humidity gave way to cooler drier conditions and during the late afternoon Mackay residents were treated to a spectacular sunset.  Clear conditions will persist today before showers start to return with the SE trade winds from Thursday onwards. Unseasonal rain and storms for Emerald region

Pretty incredible scenes out near Emerald with a strong upper trough cranking up some solid storms and heavy rain in the area! Could be some nasty winds, heavy rainfall and even hail with some of these storms! The activity is expected to contract towards SE Qld during the next 24 hours. This is the Emerald radar as of 6:10pm tonight!
